Namarupa

April 15, 2010

During this Swanage trip I have been reading and re-reading again the last printed version I have of Namarupa: Issue 09 Volumes 1-6 January – June 2009. I am meditating on two articles in particular: Death by DR. Robert Svoboda, from a talk at Union Mill Yoga in New Hampshire on September 12, 2008; and The Four Aims & The Four Stages Of Life by DR. Claudia Welch, based on a Women’s Lives, Women’s Transitions seminar in 2004 at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico.

These two important teachers provide in these articles a profound perspective on life.  The articles – tremendously wide-ranging in their scope – show us how to navigate through the various stages of life in a way that keeps us in balance with the natural laws of  both the material and spiritual realms. I recommend these two articles as well as the magazine, Namarupa to anyone who is into yoga or Vedic philosophy.

Oh to be in England……

April 13, 2010

Beautiful spring weather here in Swanage. The locals tell us that they have had a very harsh winter. We are taking care of our house. After a year of “holiday lets”, the place takes quite a beating. We are breathing the house back to life ready for a new season. Lindsey has filled it full of daffodils. Tomorrow we will drive into Bournmouth — we’ll go over on the ferry — for some items that we can’t get here in Swanage. Our house is the second chimney pot on the left.
